Sailing in the Solent between the South coast of England and the Isle of Wight.
2 nights on board a Sailing Yacht.
Go Friday August 21st and return Sunday 23rd , 2009
Starting from Southampton, the intended itinerary:
Friday August 21st: In the early evening: join the yacht. Minimum safety briefing. If it’s a lovely evening, we may set off and perhaps sail to Cowes on Wight. Meal on-board.
Saturday 22nd: We will go where the tide and wind take us. Almost certainly to a Marina. Dinner ashore at a venue of the crew's choice, could be a "bar meal" in a pub.
Sunday 23rd: Breakfast followed by sailing back towards Southampton. Bit of lunch on board. Return Yacht to Ocean Village Marina about 3 or 4pm. End of trip.
Included in the price: Yacht Charter, Yachtmaster Instructor, Evening meal on Friday, Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, Tea/Coffee, soft drinks, Gas for cooking, parking at the hire base.
Not included: Travel to and from Southampton (although this will be co-ordinated so that people can share travel), Hire of Foul Weather gear, evening meal ashore on Saturday evening, a £60 share of the Security/damage deposit per person, Marina fees, Fuel, Alcohol on board.
The yacht will be MCA coded with all the correct safety gear on board. We are expecting there may be novices on board, previous sailing at Sea experience is not required. You will be expected to help to return the yacht in a clean condition to the Chartering Company.
The cost: £279 per person plus £10 per person to rent waterproofs for the weekend.
Due to common modern yacht layouts, there is a possibility (if you are on your own) that you may be asked to share a double cabin. Book two people together paying one invoice and we will find you a small discount. Do ask!
